Caring For Your Newly Paved Surface

If you’ve just had Premier Paving of Georgia, VT, newly pave your surface, there are essential things to remember. If you have any questions regarding new pavement, call us at 802-524-0399.

When asphalt is first applied, it needs time to cure properly. When the driveway is finished, you can start walking on the asphalt. Please heed the following warnings to safeguard your freshly surfaced surface:

With New Pavement, Be Sure to Follow These Guidelines

  • For three whole days—or longer if it's particularly hot—avoid driving on the fresh asphalt.
  • Asphalt can take over a year to fully cure, if parking a car for more than a couple of days, use a long board to disperse the weight.
  • When your automobile is not moving, try to avoid rotating the steering wheel back and forth because it might leave permanent marks (we call these scuff marks).
  • If left in one spot for too long, objects like lawn chairs, motorbikes and bicycle kickstands, and the like will leave depressions and cause holes in your new driveway. If you can, think about putting the kickstand on a different surface.
  • Avoid spilling solid chemicals such as oil, gasoline, antifreeze, or other substances on the driveway since they may leave permanent stains.

Your driveway's margins are particularly fragile because there is no side support. To prevent cracking and collapsing over time, it is best to avoid driving on the edges. To reinforce the borders of your driveway, think about adding topsoil to the sides. This can also improve the aesthetic if grass or flowers are grown over the topsoil and/or stone, adding a beautiful touch and increasing curb appeal.

Stone, sand, and other materials are among the various substances that go into making blacktop. Your driveway may have a varying texture, with some places appearing smoother. Premier Paving Inc. is a better option than manually placing your blacktop with hand tools and rakes since they have the right tools to mitigate some of these effects. When you employ a specialist like Premier Paving Inc. to complete the job for you correctly the first time, you'll appear much more professional.
